Downstairs over-restored in our opinion - too much paint has ruined the AN effect of their woodwork. Upstairs looked better but we only visited when they were not serving upstairs (their restaurant area)."

Found via excellent Time Out Web site: www.timeout.co.uk : it has selections of hotels, restaurants and cafes from their guide books. We liked it because it does not appear too have been changed, even though Time Out says it has been "well-restored". It appears to have original AN windows and doors on the front with good woodwork and mirrors inside (we only went in ground floor area). Good basic food. Not elaborate AN as in Restaurant Julien etc. but much more affordable!
Relais de l'Odéon (ex Restaurant Vagenande)	**	?	30 €	Address : 142, Boulevard St Germain Restaurant Web site The interior is classified and that's with a reason, it has not changed Comment by Wim Dammers in 2007 : since 1904, when they installed the art nouveau interior. Very beautiful, with mirrors, glass-in-lead ceiling, bronze chandeliers etc. The menu is filled with French brasseries specialties, the quality is excellent, count € 30 per person

Restaurant Rougeot (Café de la gare)	**	?	60-100 FF	Address : 59, boulevard du Montparnasse Food ans service are definitely not as good as the decoration. The decoration style is jammed between Art Nouveau and 1850 café style using ceramics and mirrors veined by wood strips that would have gained to have a little more liberty. The floral patterns show a large influence of Art Nouveau but the vases are still very academical.
